Car dealer raises commitment to fight breast cancer

When it comes to an Oconee car dealer’s passion to lessen the scourge of breast cancer, the battle is personal. Breast disease has affected two members of Mark Williams’ family. That’s why, according to Oconee Memorial’s Hunter Kome, Williams’ Lake Keowee dealerships are annual donors to the hospital’s breast care center department. At a recent symbolic check presentment, Williams’ dealerships announced $27,800 as this October’s donation. But Kome says when Cortni Nations of the Hospital Foundation picked up the real check Williams, drawing from his own funds, rounded the contribution off to $30 thousand.
