Candidates qualify up to the last minutes

The field of candidates has been set for November’s municipal elections in four of Oconee’s five towns and cities.  And last minute qualifiers round out an especially large field of ballot candidates in two of the cities.  The final qualifiers were Danny Duncan for Westminster City Council and Charles Morgan for Walhalla City Council.  In Walhalla, there will be four men for mayor and six men and women for three council seats; in Westminster, there are two candidates for mayor and ten men and women for three council seats.  Salem and West Union voters November 5 also will be asked to vote for the candidates of their choice for the offices of mayor and town council.  We will air a complete listing of the ballot candidates for all four municipalities during the 101.7/WGOG Radio newscasts.
