Candidates for Treasurer drop by WGOG

One of the choices for Oconee Republican voters in next month’s primary election is to select the nominee for county treasurer — the keeper of Oconee’s public money.  There are two ballot candidates, Tonya Keller, a current employee of the office; and Gena Acree, an employee of the county auditor’s office.  Keller and Acree have taken part in separate recorded interviews by 101.7/WGOG NEWS, answering questions not known to the two prior.  In our first installment, airing today on WGOG NEWS, the two introduce themselves to listeners by responding to the question of what parts of their life have led them to seek the county treasurer’s office.  The winner June 11 is likely to be the one to succeed the retiring Greg Nowell as the GOP primary nominee will face no Democratic opponent in the November General Election.
