Calvin Smith

Westminster – James Calvin Smith, 82, husband of Martha Marie Carter Smith, passed away Thursday, August 10^th, 2023 at his residence.

 

 A native of Oconee County, he was the son of the late Henry and Julie Mae Teague Smith.  Mr. Smith worked as a logger and for the Town of Westminster. He was a member of the Ole Country Church and his greatest love was his family. 

 

Survivors in addition to his wife, Martha Marie Carter Smith, include his son, Kyle Smith (Kim) of Westminster; stepchildren, Randall Roach and Martha Pressley; eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and thirteen great greatgrandchildren.

 

 In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers, Charles Smith, Grady Smith.

 

A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 13^th, 2023 at the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 pm, Sunday, August 13^th, 2023 at Sandifer Funeral Home prior to the service.
