Cain supports Davis to chair County Council

The prospects appear bright for Julian Davis to rise to the chairmanship of the Oconee County Council. Davis’s colleague, Paul Cain, says at Davis’s request, he is supporting Davis to chair the council in 2019. The chair position is to be decided by a council vote during the re-organization meeting Tuesday, January 8. Current council chair Edda Cammick leaves office effective at the end of today and is to be succeeded by John Elliott, who defeated her in last June’s District One primary election. Elliott then went on to win the office by defeating Democrat Bill Bruehl in November.
