Caggiano reacts to easing restrictions

Oconee County’s first-year economic development director sees the governor’s announcement as a first step toward recovery. But Annie Caggiano qualified her remarks with the reminder that South Carolina remains under a “Work or Home” order and the need continues for social distancing as a way to keep down virus infections. She spoke today in a news interview arranged by the Oconee Chamber of Commerce. The chamber’s executive director, JoAnn Johnson, says a day rarely goes by without getting a question on whether gyms and hair salons will be allowed to re-open. In line with the Georgia governor’s announcement yesterday, Oconeeans in need of a trim may be able starting Friday to cross the state line provided they can find a barber or a cosmetologist who will take advantage of permission to re-open.
