Business community gets advice from Sen. Scott

Through the internet this morning, members of the South Carolina business community are getting advice from Senator Tim Scott about how the federal government is able to help business weather the coronavirus storm. Up for particular discussion is the newly-approved nationwide relief package that’ll contain money and other assistance for the various segments of the economy. In the case of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and its affiliates and members, there’s focus on the provision for paycheck protection, in which the federal government will temporarily cover employer’s expenses in exchange for a commitment that the employers will keep their workforce. Scott says payroll protection assistance is available at any moment, and a number of financial institutions are able to start the application processes.
