Burglary and vandalism at auditorium

A young Walhalla woman was placed under arrest after city police said she was found hiding behind curtains at the Civic Auditorium on N. Broad Street. Paul Harris, the interim chief of police, said the scene that officers Sean Brinson and Zachary McCall encountered at the noon hour yesterday was one of burglary and vandalism at the former school house that was converted by volunteers into a place of entertainment for the community. According to Harris, officers believe Autumn Renee Kiser poured glue on the stage and the wooden floors, stole clothing, and broke into the auditorium thru a back door some time Monday night. Twenty-four-year old Kiser has been charged with resisting arrest, burglary second degree, malicious injury to personal property, petty larceny, and giving false information. The police estimate $2 thousand dollars in vandalism was left behind.
