Buren Hopkins

West Union– Buren Henry “Hoppy” Hopkins, 73, husband of Wanda Lynn Price Hopkins, passed away on Wednesday, October 20th, 2021 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Buren was born in Oconee County and was the son of the late Patrick Henry and Irene Barnes Hopkins.  Buren was employed with Itron for more than 51 years. He was a member of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church and served as the assistant scoutmaster of the Walhalla Boy Scout Troop 45 for many years.

 

In addition to his loving wife, Wanda Lynn Price Hopkins is survived by sons, Alan Hopkins of Walhalla, Brian Hopkins and wife Shannon of Walhalla; five grandchildren, Kaylyn Clifton (Davy), Ashley Hopkins, Noelle Smith (Johnathan), Nevan Hopkins, Brady Hopkins; eleven great-grandchildren, Kaysen, Tragon, Nazaiah, Kilyn, Nolan, Mason, Madison, Tristan, Mack Henry, Kaylor, and Ezra.

 

In addition to his parents, Buren is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Elizabeth Hopkins; brothers, Miles Hopkins, Hudson Hopkins, and Judson Hopkins.

 

A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, October 24th, 2021 at Heritage Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 at Sandifer Funeral Home.
