Building code adoption to lead to town cleanup

Salem will look to Seneca for that city’s experience in getting rid of dilapidated buildings. Brad Norton, Salem town attorney, this week predicts that the adoption of a building code is going to lead to a cleanup of eyesores and structures that are unsafe. Norton says he thinks there will be action soon as the project is a top priority of the first-year mayor, Lynn Towe. But first, according to Norton, Salem will confer with Seneca to learn how that city has been successful at demolishing substandard structures.
