Bryan Jenkins

Westminster – Walter Bryan Jenkins, Jr., 78, husband of Brenda Crenshaw Jenkins, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 6, 2023 at Prisma Health – Cottingham Hospice House.

 

A native of Stecoah, North Carolina, Bryan was the son of the late Rev. Walter B. & Blanche Higdon Jenkins.  After receiving Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Western Carolina University, he served as a Principal and Educator for over 36 years, with most years served at College Street and Westminster Middle Schools. He also served as a longtime President of the Westminster Lions Club.  Bryan’s greatest joy was his family; and will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and a proud grandfather.

 

Bryan’s Christian faith was an essential part of his life.  He was a devoted member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, treasurer, and teacher for over 45 years.

 

In addition to his wife of 56 years, Bryan is survived by daughter, Michelle J. Sheriff (Rev. Tim); son, Stephen B. Jenkins (Sheri); grandchildren, Wade Sheriff (Courtney), Kaylee Pierce (Noah), Case Sheriff, Natalee Jenkins and Tyler Jenkins; sister, Charlene Medlin (Doug); brother, Bobby Jenkins (Alina), Nicky Jenkins (Dori) and Danny Jenkins (Beth).

 

In addition to his parents, Bryan is preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Jenkins.

 

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with entombment to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.  The family will receive friends 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.
