Bruce Douberley

Walhalla– Bruce Charles Douberley, 69, husband of Bonnie Barnett Douberley, passed away Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 at the Cottingham Hospice House.

 

Born in Miami, Florida, Bruce was the son of the late Sam Douberley and Lois Werner Douberley of Seneca. Bruce retired from Clemson University where he worked as a computer technician. Bruce was the founder of the Keowee Amateur Radio club, was an avid train collector, was a ham radio operator and had a great passion for astronomy.

 

In addition to his wife, Bruce is survived by his mother, Lois Werner Douberley; his two fur babies, BooBear and Kirk; family members, Dr. and Mrs. Alton J. Barnett, Al and Andrea Barnett, Dr. Cindy Nichols, Larry and Dianne Steinbeck, Greg Smith, Abi Smith, and Dr. and Mrs. Bob Lanford; numerous nieces & nephews and great-nieces & nephews.

 

Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Sam Douberley; his sister, Bonnie Smith; and his grandmother, Marie Werner.

 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 2nd, 2022, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with a private burial at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Saturday, July 2nd, 2022 prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.
