Brandon Joshua Mauldin death investigation

The Anderson County coroner’s office says the Liberty man who died in a police-involved shooting Tuesday night crashed his vehicle behind a home on Queen Anne Lane, and was shot during what the state police say was a confrontation with county deputies.  Brandon Joshua Mauldin was pronounced dead at the scene.  Both the coroner’s office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating.  According to SLED, the deputies attempted to serve warrants charging Mauldin with domestic violence first degree, resisting arrest, and receiving stolen goods, but he fled.  At the request of the agency involved, the state Law Enforcement Division conducts officer-involved shooting investigations.  This incident was the 37th officer-involved shooting this year in South Carolina.  Last year, there were 49.
