Bond hearing in the works for suspect in fatal crash

Word we are getting is that an Oconee County first court appearance is in the works for an Easley man identified as the suspect in last night’s crash between Seneca and Clemson that took the life of a 39-year old woman.  A court officer tells 101.7/WGOG NEWS the bond hearing for El Asia Hassain Muhammed, 19, will likely be this afternoon or tomorrow morning in Walhalla, once a decision is made on charges.  According to what Sheriff Mike Crenshaw said this morning, a meeting to consider charges is to take place this morning and involve officers and members of the solicitor’s office.  Muhammed was reported in custody late last night after a short chase on foot near the accident scene, a home on 123/the Clemson Boulevard.  An occupant of that home was killed, according to Coroner Karl Addis, when a vehicle fleeing a nearby checkpoint crashed in the basement of the house.
