Bomb threat empties Walhalla apartments

A suspect fled on foot as the Walhalla police learned of a potential bomb threat Saturday at the Highland Glen Apartments off E. Main Street.  The police evacuated the apartment residents, but a search of the complex found no explosive and the apartment residents were allowed to re-occupy their units.  The Walhalla police responded around 8:30 pm to what they were told was a domestic disturbance.  The city police received assistance from the bomb squad of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the Oconee Sheriff’s Office Explosive Detection K-9.  The police say there’s no evidence of danger to the public, but they continue to investigate.
