Boil water advisory lifted

The City of Westminster Utility Department advises all residents and customers served by the Westminster, SC water distribution system in Oconee County that it is no longer advised to vigorously boil their water for at least (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
The “Boil Water Advisory” previously issued on Monday April 22nd is hereby repealed. Areas affected included the following subdivisions and secondary roads specifically and to any area that may have experienced loss of water service this past Saturday afternoon; April 20th.

Baldwin Pointe
Horseshoe Bend
Toccoa Hwy From Singleton Rd, Rivoli Point/Low Country

Following intense flushing of the distribution system, bacteriological samples have been collected and subsequently analyzed by the City of Westminster Water Treatment Facility. The results of this testing indicate that water supplied by the system is safe to use for drinking and cooking purposes.
