Boil water advisory for certain Westminster customers

Parts of Westminster’s water service territory have been placed under a boil water advisory, as the result of an 8-inch water line break and the collapse of the roadside fill Saturday along 123/the Toccoa Highway. The advisory applies to Westminster customers on Jenkins Bridge Road, Dixon Road, Singleton Road, Baldwin Pointe, Hopewell Church Road, Toccoa Highway from Rivoli Point to Low Country, Cleveland Pike Road, Ken Pat Acres and Madison Shores. The advisory calls for customers in those areas to vigorously boil their water before drinking or cooking purposes. Before lifting the advisory, Westminster is required to take two sets of satisfactory samples taken before consideration can be given to lifting the advisory. The first set of samples was taken this morning, and the second is to follow 24 hours later. Customers with questions may call the Westminster Water Plant at 647-3219.
