Blue Ridge’s late afternoon update

As of 5:40 this afternoon, Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative had 12,752 members without electric service. The by-county breakdown:

• Anderson 2,656

• Greenville 35

• Oconee 9,827

• Pickens 234

• Spartanburg -0-

Power has been restored to another 469 members during the last hour. As noted in the previous update, the bulk of members still out in Oconee and Anderson counties should be back on, once the damaged transmission line is re-energized. That is expected to take place well after dark this evening. After that has been accomplished, there will still be outage repairs to be made on sections of the distribution power lines feeding from the seven substations. That process can be expected to extend at least into Wednesday.
