Blue Ridge’s Frank Looper re-elected

An incumbent member of the policy board for the Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative survived a re-election challenge.  In two days of balloting, Frank Looper held onto his Pickens County seat on the Blue Ridge board of directors.  The ballot count gave Looper a winning margin of 524 votes.  In votes cast by Blue Ridge customers across the multi-county service area, Looper tallied 3,210.  His challenger, Jason Ambrose Dennis, 2,706.  Looper aggressively sought Oconee County votes.  He handed out fliers and pressed the flesh and told 101.7/WGOG NEWS he was optimistic that the difference in the race could be the vote from Oconee County.
