Blue Ridge meeting to be held with changes

The annual meeting of the Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative will take place on Thursday, April 23, but there are changes required by the health concerns and meeting limits brought on by COVID-19. This year, instead of an in-person annual meeting, special drive-thru registration, voting, and gift giveaways will be conduct by the Oconee and Pickens offices. The special drive-through will be open the following dates and times: Tuesday, April 21 from 8 am to 5 pm; Wednesday, April 22 from 8 am to 5 pm; and Thursday, April 23 from 7 am to 7 pm. To be in position to officially conduct business, Blue Ridge will need registrations from five percent of its members, or about 23-hundred customers from the multi-county service area. Among the by-law changes that Blue Ridge will pose is a referendum on whether to switch to single-member district voting to fill seats on the board of directors.
