Blood Center implements new anti-body screenings

Now that vaccines have been released, the Blood Connection has upgraded its service to donors interested in checking for the body’s response to COVID-19.  Its new anti-body screening tests each donor’s blood to see if it contains the anti-bodies from the COVID vaccine or anti-bodies from exposure to the COVID virus, or both.  Previously, the Blood Connection screenings could detect a donor’s natural response to the virus through exposure only.  The new screenings detect both.  Donors may make appointments at any Blood Connection blood drive or at any donor center in the Carolinas, including the one in front of Prisma Oconee Memorial and the Lila Doyle nursing and re-habilitation center.
