Blackwell declines JRSA seat

Richard Blackwell has declined a seat on the board of commissioners of the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority to instead accept an offer to join the governing board of a state agency.  Blackwell was scheduled yesterday to take the oath to fill a Seneca vacancy on the JRSA board, as a Seneca representative.  But Seneca’s Scott Moulder announced at the start of yesterday’s meeting that Blackwell has decided to become a board member of South Carolina “JEDA”—the Jobs-Economic Development Authority which helps seed funds to individual government entities across the state.  Blackwell’s decision leaves the Seneca City Council with nominating an alternate individual to succeed Sharon Hennes, who recently resigned.  For now, Seneca is left with three sitting members of the nine-member board:  Moulder, Bob Faires, and Scott McLane.
