Bid to knock down the bond issue challenge

Attorneys for Oconee County will argue next month in favor of dismissing a legal challenge to the county’s controversial $25 million dollar bond issue.  The attorneys — Lane Davis and William Wilkins — are due in court to make a motion to dismiss.  They’ll be opposed by James Carpenter of the South Carolina Public Interest Foundation, one of the plaintiffs.  The motion to dismiss is to be heard by Judge McIntosh at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, June 13 in the Common Pleas Court at Walhalla.
