Betty Spearman

Westminster- Betty Sue Spearman Holbrooks, 89, wife of the late Hal Talmadge Holbrooks, passed away Saturday, April 27^th, 2024 at the Cottingham Hospice House.

 

Born on August 28^th, 1934, in Westminster, South Carolina, to the late Carl L. and Emma Pauline Craig Spearman. Betty was known for her cleanliness of her home, her cooking, and her great pleasure was spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

 

Betty is survived by her sons, Arthur “Art” Holbrooks (Shelley) of Clemson, Hal Holbrooks (Tammy) of Westminster, Don Holbrooks (Kristy) of Westminster; daughter, Tracy Sanders (James) of Hartwell, Georgia; sister, Margaret Broome of Seneca; and multiple grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty is preceded in death by brothers, Jack Spearman, Rev. Bob Spearman, Larry Spearman; and sisters, Helen Herring, Mildred Nichols and Grace King.

 

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 30^th, 2024 at South Union Baptist Church, with a private burial to take place at a later time.  The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, prior to the service, Tuesday, April 30^th, 2024 at South Union Baptist Church.
