Betty Jean Davis Dickard

Walhalla, SC — Betty Jean Davis Dickard, 90, wife of the late Benjamin Bruce Dickard, of Walhalla, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at her home.

 

A native of Walhalla, SC, Mrs. Dickard was the daughter of the late Ben Howard and Era Mae Medlin Davis. She retired from Kendall Corporation and was a faithful member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church for 82 years.

 

Mrs. Dickard is survived by her son: Rev. Bob Dickard of Pendleton, SC; daughters: Glenda Martin (Dewitt) of Seneca, SC and Martha Henderson (David) of Seneca, SC; sister: Dot Long of Walhalla, SC; sister-in-law: Frances Davis of Walhalla, SC; grandchildren: Brad Martin (Ammia), Jeff Martin (Selena), Mandy Wimpey (Wes), Jason Dickard (Ravda), Chris Roach (Jenny), Zack Roach (Kerrie), Brad Henderson (Angie) and Matt Henderson; great-grandchildren: Cara Martin (Ryan), Deandra Martin, Hope Martin, Olivia Martin, Eva Martin, Iris Martin, Aaron Wimpey (Hannah), Isaac Wimpey (Rileigh), Emily Roach, Ethan Roach, Zander Roach, Emerson Roach, Bhaer Henderson, Conner Henderson, Cooper Henderson, Piper Henderson, Cohen Henderson, Nicholas Dickard, Ben Dickard, Sophia Dickard, Tinley Dickard, Reese Dickard and Rhett Dickard; great great-grandchildren: Wilson Wimpey, Dotty Wimpey, Damon Dickard and Audrey Lynn Dickard; and special friends: Donna Loudermilk, Wade and Case Sheriff and Karlee and Jase Winchester.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Dickard was preceded in death by her brothers: Ben, Kenneth, Gerald and Jimmy Davis; and sisters: Louise Dickard and Joan Justice.

 

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel.

 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Tuesday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.
