Beaufort County man jailed in Oconee

A man who allegedly drove a Jeep to Delaware belonging to an Oconee County car dealership has been jailed in Walhalla. The crime is alleged to have occurred 20 years ago but the accused, Bryan Allan Lanier of Bluffton, now finds himself in jail and, according to a spokesman for the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, is a wanted man also in other locales in South Carolina’s low country. In Oconee County, Lanier is charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent, along with a number of other offenses alleged to have victimized a Salem area resident. The 1997 Jeep was taken from Edwards Auto Sales in April 2000 and was allegedly driven by Lanier to New Castle, Delaware
