Beatrice Mary Adams

Seneca, SC — Beatrice Mary Girtz Adams, 88, of Seneca, SC passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with Dementia, on October 28, 2022.

Beatrice, “Bea,” was born on November 10, 1933 to the late Rose and Jacob Girtz. She was the 13th of 19 children and grew up on the family farm in Pierz, MN. Bea married the love of her life, John Alexander Adams, on November 30, 1957. During their 40+ years of marriage the couple resided in four states, including Illinois, Ohio, Missouri and South Carolina, where they established life long and lasting friendships. Bea found great joy in entertaining and being surrounded by family and friends. Her hobbies included playing cards, golfing, gambling, singing and traveling. Bea’s greatest pleasure was being in the kitchen cooking for all to enjoy. Beatrice was a devout Catholic, and a member of St. Paul the Apostle’s church in Seneca, SC. In her younger years, she enjoyed singing in the parish choir and in the community choir in Parkville, MO. She had a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit that not even dementia could alter. As a certified cosmetologist, Bea could always be seen cutting family members’ hair even at the age of 80. Beatrice belonged to the Missouri Association of Realtors where she earned the distinguished honor of a Million Dollar Club Life Member. After retirement, she spent time volunteering at Habitat for Humanity, where she enjoyed greeting customers and bagging purchases.
