BASF expands apprentice programs

A manufacturer at Seneca and Clemson is ramping up its effort to train a workforce for the future.  BASF seeks applicants for a new apprentice program at Clemson and its expanded program at Seneca.  The company offers apprentices full 12 months’ wages to take part in on-the-job-training while earning a certificate in Process Control Technology from Tri-County Technical College.  Full medical, dental and vision benefits, paid vacation, and the costs of tuition, books, and fees also.  At program’s end, apprentices have the skills and credentials to be placed in permanent jobs for which annual merit increases and bonuses are available.  At Seneca, the plant recycles special chemical catalysts, such as old catalytic converters.  At Clemson, the product is poly-urethanes for applications that include insulation for commercial coolers and refrigerated tractor trailers.
