Award for Oconee’s top economic recruiter

Richard Blackwell works for Oconee full time to recruit economic development that brings jobs, creates local spending, and strengthens the tax base.  His efforts have been recognized by an upstate group that is in the same business.  The Upstate Alliance yesterday awarded Blackwell its “Economic Developer of the Year Award.”  The award was announced this morning by Glenn Buddin, president of the Oconee Economic Alliance.  Buddin’s announcement elicited warm applause during the business forum held by the alliance.
