Autopsy set on body of lake fatality

An autopsy is planned this week on the body of a 63-year old Easley man whose body was recovered Saturday from Lake Keowee near Seneca. Bobby McCombs was part of a family boating and swimming outing Friday afternoon. Coroner Karl Addis quotes family members as saying that at approximately 3:45 pm Friday afternoon, McCombs dived into the lake Keowee from the boat for a swim. He was a passenger on the boat. According to family members who were present, McCombs surfaced and began to swim back toward the boat; he then went underwater with no struggle. His body was recovered Saturday afternoon at 12:40 pm by divers in a depth of water reported to be 50 feet. An external examination found no injuries.
