  Clemson University credits a student majoring in bio-engineering with strides toward a career that has been male-dominated.  She’s Ashley Babinchak, who arrived at Clemson with an interest in biology and engineering.  And now Ashley has been accepted a summer intern with the medical device company Arthrex.  She’ll be an intern at the company’s headquarters in Naples, Florida.

In today’s DHEC report:  562 new cases of COVID in South Carolina.  Nine of those are Oconee County cases.  Statewide the new death toll for the last 24 hour counting period:  four individuals.  Of 20,552 test results, the positivity was 3.7%.

A disabled truck and trailer, transporting a front end loader, made for a slow go today on 123 at Seneca’s Lindsay Road.  For a few hours around noon time, Clemson-bound traffic had to proceed slowly on one lane as personnel worked to remove the disabled truck trailer.
