Jobs to be added by manufacturer near Seneca

Announcement is scheduled this morning of expansion plans for the BASF manufacturing plant in the Reedy Fork Community near Seneca, 101.7/WGOG NEWS has learned.  What had been code-named “Urban Mine”, according to the state Commerce Department, will mean an additional 50 jobs at BASF.  The official announcement is timed for 9 o’clock this morning.

Free food this afternoon in Walhalla

Food will be given away during a one-hour period this afternoon in Walhalla.  The distribution at the St. Luke United Methodist Church will be 4:30 to 5:30 this afternoon.  In Westminster yesterday, the giveaway of food boxes was slower than normal, according to one of the distributors.  However, all food was handed out after three hours’ time.

Wanted man found dead

A 25-year old West Union man, identified by the police as the suspect in two shootings in Westminster, has been found dead in the city of Anderson.  The Anderson County coroner, Greg Shore, says Noah Elijah Cleveland died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and the death has been ruled a suicide. Cleveland’s death is also being investigated by the Anderson city […]
