First day work week COVID numbers

From South Carolina DHEC:  3,554 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state.  In Oconee County, 82 new cases.  Statewide, there were 73 deaths counted in a 24-hour period, including two each in Pickens and Anderson counties.  Of 29,217 test results received, the positivity was 17.3%. (These numbers reflect the count at Monday’s finish)

Motorcycle fatality near Six Mile

The state patrol reports a motorcyclist was killed last night when his chopper hit a low-hanging tree in Pickens County.  By mid-morning, the coroner had yet to identify the fatality.  The patrol reported the accident shortly after 12:30 this morning on two-lane SC 133, three miles north of Six Mile.  The motorcyclist was helmeted and ejected from the motorcycle.
