A 36-year-old Anderson man, Christopher Price, died in the hospital Thursday night, the victim of a two-vehicle accident that morning on the LaFrance Road near Pendleton, according to Coroner Greg Shore of Anderson County.

Jeff Richardson’s time as West Union police chief ended this morning at town hall.  At 9 this morning, Mayor Oliver swore in Sgt. Benjamin Hailey as the new police chief – succeeding Richardson who resigned effective Wednesday.  Corp. Jeremy Kennemore is in line to be promoted July 29 to the rank of sergeant.  

Offices in the city of Clemson are open and operational today.  However, some of the city’s online services have been affected by the CrowdStrike security update and, at least at mid-day, were down.

Last evening a serious traffic accident near Walhalla.  Authorities tell 101.7/WGOG NEWS an SUV and a pickup truck collided at SC 11 near Fowler Road.  Three people were sent to the hospital.  One of the vehicles wound up on its side.
