Jobless claims increase in OC

The unemployment rates across South Carolina and the country dropped during November, but they inched higher in Oconee County. In November, 8.6% of Oconee’s workforce was looking for work, compared to 8.4% a month earlier, according to an announcement by the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce. Drug Control Bureau beefed up

Two new officers will soon help crack down on the illegal use of legal drugs in South Carolina. DHEC has announced that officers Judith Pierce and Eddie Black graduate today from the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy and become drug control inspectors for its Bureau of Drug Control. Both graduates are South Carolina registered pharmacists and law enforcement officers.
