U-S Postal Service has released its suggested mail-by-dates to help customers ensure that their packages, cards and letters arrive in time for this year’s holiday season. The first holiday mailing deadline is November 13 for customers sending Parcel Post packages to APO and FPO addresses. Space Available mail must be mailed by November 26.

No matter how next month’s elections turn out, a Seneca chapter of a national and international service club is going to hear a slant on the results from one of the country’s leaders. Hometown U-S Senator Lindsey Graham has accepted an invitation to speak to the Seneca Rotary Club Thursday, November 8, according to Rotarian Marvin Gray.

The West-Oak High School Marching Band claimed top honors in a competition featuring 37 bands. At last weekend’s Boiling Springs Festival of Bands, the Marching Warriors earned Best Colorguard, Best Music and first place overall in class. Colt Campbell directs the band, assisted by guard instructor Tammy Mauldin and percussion instructor Dino Wagoner.

A new date has been announced for West Union’s part in an updated study on “CAT” bus routes in Oconee County. The meeting was first announced for Monday, October 8. Ernie Boughman of the URS Company in Columbia says the meeting has been rescheduled for 6 o’clock Tuesday, October 23 at West Union Town Hall.
