Jeff Richardson’s time as West Union police chief ended this morning at town hall.  At 9 this morning, Mayor Oliver swore in Sgt. Benjamin Hailey as the new police chief – succeeding Richardson who resigned effective Wednesday.  Corp. Jeremy Kennemore is in line to be promoted July 29 to the rank of sergeant.  

Offices in the city of Clemson are open and operational today.  However, some of the city’s online services have been affected by the CrowdStrike security update and, at least at mid-day, were down.

The South Carolina man who was arrested after he allegedly set fire to his truck with his small boy inside has been indicted.  The indictments follow the arrest of Joshua Dornellas after a chase through two states.  Lake Hartwell Radio WLHR at Lavonia reports the following indictments against Dornellas were handed up by the Franklin County Grand Jury:  criminal attempt […]

Last evening a serious traffic accident near Walhalla.  Authorities tell 101.7/WGOG NEWS an SUV and a pickup truck collided at SC 11 near Fowler Road.  Three people were sent to the hospital.  One of the vehicles wound up on its side.
