The precinct of absentee votes once again promises to deliver a heavy vote during the November General Election season.  101.7/WGOG NEWS has learned that, by mid-morning today, 878 Oconeeans of vote age had applied for an absentee ballot.

Oconee Sheriff Mike Crenshaw said a weekend altercation that involved two inmates at jail remains under investigation.  One of the two required hospital treatment.  Crenshaw said the incident occurred Saturday.
