Salem sets July 4 celebration

Salem invites everyone to take in the 4th tomorrow at its celebration.  All events are free.  They start at 6 tomorrow at Eagle Ridge Field.  Six o’clock is the time to start parking for the car show.  Salem’s July 4th event will finish at 9:30 tomorrow night with fireworks. The fireworks display is paid for by donations at Town Hall.

Verdict for the defense

Word from Pickens is that a common pleas jury ruled in favor of the defense in a trial that alleged medical malpractice.  It was a week long trial that finished late yesterday afternoon at Pickens.  The plaintiff was Linda Loftis and the defendants were Dr. Dwight Jacobus and Oaktree Medical Center.
