Oconee Coroner Karl Addis says the man found dead inside a car that had overturned and wound up in a small creek was Pickens County resident Thomas Lowell Loesch.  He was 79 years old and a Six Mile resident. A spokesman for the state patrol says a fatality is under investigation this morning in Oconee County, on Keowee River road near the Oconee Nuclear Station.  The accident was reported around 7:15 am.  So far, no further information available from the patrol, nor has the coroner made an announcement.

Portable tower in use at Oconee airport

Saturday turned out well for Clemson on the football field.  It was a good day at the nearby Oconee Regional Airport, which saw increased air traffic for game day.   Randy Renz, chairman of the county aeronautics commission, called Saturday a “great day” at the airport, saying a portable control tower was in use and manned by two retired FFA controllers.

Basement leak at City Hall

A city councilman has explained the presence of machinery in front of the Seneca City Hall.  Anthony Herman Smith says a leak has been detected in the basement of the 20-25 year old building.  The matter is on the agenda for tonight’s 6 o’clock city council meeting.
