A second Democrat qualified today to run in his party’s June 12 primary. Bill Bruehl of Cedar Cove Road, Seneca will seek his party’s nomination to run for Seat One, Oconee County Council. Bruehl joins two others in the field for that seat. The others are Republicans: Incumbent Edda Cammick and challenger John Elliott.

Oconee Schools announce replacement administrators

After a personnel meeting yesterday, the Oconee School Board announces the hiring of a new principal and a new personnel director. The job of Director of Human Resources goes to Al Leroy, the principal of Seneca Middle School. The vacant principal’s job at West-Oak Middle School goes to Melody “April” Gambrell, currently an assistant principal at West-Oak High School.
