Drought status

Most of South Carolina is now free from drought as late-July rain and tropical storm Debby covered much of the state.  However, below-normal flows in the upper Savannah basin have contributed to declining lake levels for Hartwell and Thurmond has resulted in a Stage 1 drought level. Oconee, Anderson and Pickens remain in incipient drought.

Breaking down Clemson’s incoming first-year class

The number, 5,031, represents how many first-year students arrive this week on the Clemson campus.  They hail from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 22 countries.  The top five South Carolina counties from which they’ve enrolled are Greenville, Charleston, York, Anderson, and Spartanburg.  Popular names for the first-year students are Ava, William, Emma, Ella, and Lauren.
