Who stole a moped near Westminster?

Oconee sheriff’s officers believe a moped was stolen last week at an address near Westminster on the Sunshine Ridge Road.  It’s likely that the faded blue moped was stolen between 10:45 Wednesday night, February 19 and 9:45 am Thursday, February 20.  It’s a 2017 Kymco Agility 50.  Moped tag:  MP-2-1-1-1.  There was a Carolina Panthers sticker on the handle bars.  […]

Accident at the Rock Quarry

An employee has been injured this morning at the Oconee Rock Quarry near Walhalla in an accident that is believed to have involved a forklift piece of equipment.  We spoke to Amanda Brock, county administrator, who says first information indicates the injured work suffered bruises and is being attended by medical personnel.  We’ll have further details as they are available.

New hospital building should be ready by May

A facility that will train the doctors of tomorrow should be ready to teach this spring. The building on the campus of the Prisma Oconee Memorial Hospital will be called the Center of Family Medicine. And Hunter Kome, chief operating office at the Prisma Oconee campus, says one-half dozen medical residents will be chosen to start training this summer.
