AUGUSTA CANNONE (Miss. Gussie)
Seneca- Augusta was born August 5th 1933 and went to be with the Lord on January 9th, 2024. “Miss Gussie” as she is known to many, was born in Queens, NY to the late Joseph & Augusta Westover of West Islip, NY.
Gussie is most known in Seneca as the little lady with a big heart. She worked at Firehouse Subs for 10 years as their greeter and her last job was as a greeter for 3 years at Wendy’s. Gussie retired in 2020 at the age of 87. Miss Gussie is loved by many and has a beautiful large family to honor her legacy.
She is survived by her former husband, Lodovico (Rico) Cannone, her six children, Rose (Walter) Bruner, Joseph Cannone (Donna), John (Theresa) Cannone, James (Sue) Cannone, Regina (Ken) Schaaf, Steven (Nancy) Cannone, as well as by 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Christa L. Ryerson, and grandson, Steven M. Cannone.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, January 12, 2024 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Sandifer Funeral Home.
