August 15 will be start date for public schools

The start of the next school year in Oconee County will be Monday, August 15—for students in all grade levels.  A unified calendar won out last night over starting grade levels on separate dates.  Teachers and community members recently had the chance to vote on the next school calendar. Thorsland took another poke at state lawmakers for the role they play in creating school calendars.
