Audit time for Oconee County government

At its meeting next week, Oconee County Council will receive the 2018-19 audit from Grant H. Davis of the firm Mauldin & Jenkins. In the council meeting at 6 Tuesday night at Pine Street, a public hearing takes place on the financial assistance that the county proposes for “Project Aztec” which is said to be a project to transform the empty Golden Corner Commerce property into a solar energy farm.  Reserved for closed session Tuesday is discussion on a second code-named project, “Trout.”  Previously, Trout has been identified as a developer interested in re-habilitating a historic site into a mixed development. That site is believed to be the former textile plant in the Village of Newry near Seneca.
