As Elsa passes, keep safe driving in mind

Tropical storm Elsa passes through South Carolina’s Pee Dee this morning, but the AAA motor club says it’s still timely to keep in mind safe driving tips.  “Driving through severe weather endangers the lives of both you and the first responders who might need to come to your rescue,” says Tiffany Wright, Public Affairs Director, AAA — the Auto Club Group in the Carolinas.  If you don’t have to drive, stay home.”  Tips for driving wet roads include:  slow down, increase your following distance, turn your headlights on, turn your hazard lights off, avoid using cruise control, avoid flooded areas, and if poor visibility, pull over to a safe place and wait for the rain to ease up.
