Arrests made in vicinity of student apartments

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Spartanburg County men yesterday on drug and weapons charges. 19 year old Randy Deshaun Landrum of Lauren Hope Lane in Moore and 18 year old Joshua Wayne Moore of Bellweather Drive in Duncan were booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 12:20pm and 12:56pm respectively on Temporary Custody Order’s until arrest warrants were obtained. Landrum and Moore were charged with one count of each of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of a Stolen Weapon and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. Just before 8am yesterday morning, deputies were dispatched to an address on Harts Ridge Drive near Seneca in regards to reports of a burglary and armed home invasion at an apartment. According to information obtained during the investigation, a resident of the apartment stated that two males knocked on the apartment door. After cracking open the apartment door to be able to hear the individuals better, both males reportedly made entry into the apartment and both were armed, according to the complainant. A call was made to dispatch to report the incident, according to information obtained during the investigation. When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a vehicle, a silver Toyota Camry, near the incident location. The occupants of the vehicle matched a description of the subjects who were reportedly involved in the burglary and armed home invasion incident. Deputies then initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. After detaining the three subjects inside of the vehicle, including Landrum and Moore, deputies say they discovered inside of a backpack in the vehicle a quantity of marijuana and two firearms. A check with dispatch revealed that one of the firearms, a Smith and Wesson pistol, was reported stolen to the Pickens City Police Department on December 15th of last year. Based on evidence that was obtained during the investigation, Landrum and Moore were placed under arrest. The driver of the vehicle was released from the scene. Landrum and Moore were both released from the Oconee County Detention Center after posting bond today. Both subjects were each given a combined $15,000 surety bond. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
