Arrest made in wounding of man found in Utica woods

An arrest is reported in the wounding of a man found last week in woods in the Utica Community near Seneca. According to Sheriff’s Capt. Greg Reed, 26-year old Marshall Lee Rogers of Jasmine Tea Lane has been arrested on charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. In a Hope Avenue wooded area last Wednesday, officers found an injured Timothy Phillips. Greenville hospital medical staff later informed investigators that Phillips had been shot once in the head. Reed says the case remains an active investigation. Anyone with information that can help is asked to contact Crime Stoppers. At mid day yesterday, Rogers remained jail with no bond set.
