Arrest after suspicious person sightings in Seneca

A Walhalla man was arrested in Seneca after the police investigated sightings of a suspicious person at two locations this morning south of the railroad tracks. The Seneca police investigation started when a WS 2nd Street resident complained that someone vandalized his home by breaking a front door window. After receiving a second report—this one of a man carrying a backpack and running and yelling—the police detained Brandon Lewis Williams, 31 years old, on charges of public disorderly conduct and malicious damage to real property. The police detained Williams on S. Oak Street near Railroad Street and quoted him as saying he injured himself when he ran up to the WS 2nd Street home and broke the glass on the front door. Williams was admitted to the hospital.
